How do I choose who I should meet with? And how many companies can we see?
Each writer is given the opportunity to look through a book that contains information about all the industry professionals who are set to attend. The writer will then sign up to pitch a five minute pitch to four or five industry professionals.
I have a partner that I co-write with, can we both pitch?
You both need to register separately, however feel free to pitch together.
Can I pitch different projects to different representatives?
Absolutely, in fact it is recommended that you choose the representative that best suits the project you are pitching.
Do I need to copyright my idea/material prior to pitching at your event?
Absolutely, it very important for you to take responsibility for your work and protect it from plagiarism. Even though nothing is a guarantee, registering your work with the Writer's Guild of Canada or the Writer's Guild of America or copyrighting your treatment gives you a solid date as to when the material was created.
